Melbourne Writers Festival is staffed year-round by a small team, that grows as each Festival approaches and we welcome production, marketing, ticketing, artist liaison, front-of-house and customer service staff, who bring their expertise and enthusiasm to the task of staging this ten-day celebration. We are based out of our office on Little Lonsdale Street until we relocate to Fed Square for two weeks during the Festival itself. If you are interested in working with us, please check this page regularly, connect with us on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, or subscribe to our eNews via the link at the end of this page for updates on employment opportunities.

MWF offers a structured voluntary internship program. Internships are designed for people who want to complete a placement as part of an educational course, and people keen to develop their professional experience and skills. MWF internships provide a professional development experience, with hands-on participation in a major festival environment, in a supportive and fun team.
2018 internship applications have now closed.
MWF relies on the generosity of around 200 volunteers to assist with the successful delivery of our annual Festival. Volunteers fulfil a variety of roles across the Festival, including administration, customer relations, front-of-house, artist liaison and more. We provide a friendly and supportive environment, where volunteers learn new and valuable skills, meet people who share their interests and above all, have an enjoyable and rewarding experience. All volunteers receive a Festival t-shirt and a Festival Pass, gaining entry to all MWF events at Fed Square.
We welcome applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We welcome applications from people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and would love to know if you speak an additional language to English. We welcome applications from people with access requirements and encourage you to tell us your access needs as we have a range of volunteer roles available.
2018 volunteer applications will open in mid-2018.
