For MWF 2017, we’ve engaged six exciting voices to be our Digital Storytellers. Not only will they get to report on this year’s Festival in new and innovative ways, but welcome us into the digital spaces they inhabit so well. Here, Becca the Book Reviewer tells all about her channel, and what she’s most excited to see at this year’s Festival.
Describe your blog/channel/profile in under 50 words.
Book Reviews, hauls and discussions of the representation of bisexuality in books! Occasionally the nerdy pop culture/anime video here and there as well.
What makes your blog/channel/profile unique?
I discuss the various things I’m most interested in and bring a new perspective on them!
When and how did you get started?
A few years back I came across a book review on YouTube. I didn’t know they existed and before I knew it, I was watching hours of BookTube content every week. Shortly after, I decided to make my own channel to discuss books with people, as I didn’t have anyone in real life at the time – and suddenly I had become a BookTuber as well.
What do you love most about blogging/vlogging?
The people I’ve met. I’ve made life long friends through BookTube that I couldn’t now imagine my life without. Also the free books are pretty cool.
Who are you most excited to see at MWF 2017?
Angie Thomas, who is the author of The Hate U Give. I recently read this book while travelling in Japan and I thought it was fantastic!
What are you currently reading?
No Way! Okay, Fine by Brodie Lancaster.
