Held from 24 August to 2 September, the 2018 Melbourne Writers Festival is a bookish arts party that will bring the City of Literature to life.
For more than three decades, Melbourne Writers Festival has been bringing together the best writers, thinkers and performers from Australia and around the world to revel in the power of words to unite and inspire us.
This year, our new artistic director Marieke Hardy is sprinkling her unique brand of magic party glitter through our jam-packed program of events. As well as bringing together the authors you adore, we’re pushing the boundaries of a traditional writers festival and creating more space for self-expression as we invite you to step outside your creative comfort zone.
There will be conversations that cut, performance that empowers and music that moves as you immerse yourself in the interchange of ideas, stories and emotions between artist and audience.
Oh and fun, lots of fun – because what’s the point of bringing thousands of people together unless you’re going to show them a good time?
We can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on.
The full range of MWF18 events will be released on 17 July, with tickets on sale 20 July. Super keen? Get in early and purchase a 2018 Festival Pass now.
If it’s little literature-lovers you’re looking for, our Schools’ Program is now live and open for bookings.
