Atrium, Fed Square

Lined with galleries and cosy cafes, the Atrium is a hub for local artists and designers and is at the centre of Melbourne Writers Festival, housing the Readings Festival Bookshop, book signings, and a range of free activities.

All Gender bathrooms are available at Fed Square. These are located next to the 7/11 Convenience Store at the corner of Flinders Street and Swanston Street and near the venue, Deakin Edge inside The Atrium.

The Atrium is wheelchair accessible, with Flinders St offering the best point of entry. Alternatively enter from Fed Square's main plaza, via steps. Please note that the Atrium lift is being upgraded and will be closed during the Festival. During this time, the Flinders St entrance offers the accessible point of entry to the Atrium.
The undulating surface of Fed Square's main plaza is made up of sandstone cobblestones, with a marked access path. Accessible toilets are located in the Atrium. Please contact us if you have access requirements, or tell us your access requirements when you buy your tickets.

Take Yarra Trams route 1, 3, 3A, 5, 6, 8, 16, 64, 67 or 72 to stop number 13; or route 35, 70 or 75 to stop number 5. Flinders St is the closest train station, immediately opposite Fed Square. Further transport information is available through the Public Transport Victoria Journey Planner.
