Kyo Maclear is an acclaimed essayist, novelist and children’s author. She was born in England to a Japanese mother and British father and moved to Canada at the age of four. She is the author of the memoir Birds Art Life Death and numerous beloved books for children, including Virginia Wolf and The Fog. Her works have been translated into 12 languages and published in more than 20 countries. Maclear lives in Toronto where she shares a home with two sons, two cats, and a singer.
