Mark Davis

Mark Davis is a Melbourne-based nonfiction writer. His 1997 book Gangland: Cultural Elites and the New Generationalism was a national bestseller and was shortlisted for the 1998 NSW Premier’s Literary Awards. Gangland also received an honourable mention in the Centre for Australian Cultural Studies National Awards for ‘an outstanding contribution to Australian culture’. He is also the author of The Land of Plenty: Australia in the 2000s, which was long-listed for the 2009 John Button Prize for nonfiction writing.
