Sean McMeekin

Sean McMeekin is the author of The Russian Revolution: A New History, published in 2017, along with six other acclaimed works of historical scholarship. Fluent in Russian, German, French and Turkish, McMeekin has worked in more than 30 different historical archives in 12 different countries – including Turkey, where he lived and taught for over a decade at Bilkent University in Ankara and then Koç University in Istanbul. A professor of history at Bard College in the Hudson Valley, north of New York City, McMeekin has also taught at Yale, NYU and UC Berkeley, where he received his doctorate in history.
