Tony Ayres

Tony Ayres is an award-winning showrunner, writer and director in television and feature films, and one of the founding members of Matchbox Pictures. Ayres is the executive producer for shows such as Glitch, The Family Law, Wanted and International Emmy Award winner drama series Nowhere Boys. Other executive producer credits include the mini-series Seven Types of Ambiguity and feature films Ali’s Wedding and Nowhere Boys: The Book of Shadows. Ayres was the showrunner/director on The Slap, which won a multitude of awards, including 5 AACTA Awards and nominations for a BAFTA and International Emmy. Ayres’s directing feature credits include Cut Snake, Walking on Water and The Home Song Stories, winner of 24 international and Australian awards.
