Melbourne Writers Festival seeks an experienced Philanthropy Manager to join its small, vibrant, CBD-based team. The role is flexible and can be either full-time or part-time (0.8FTE).
Responsible for managing a portfolio of established and developing philanthropic relationships, the Philanthropy Manager will execute campaigns for appeals and gifts in wills, run events, work with trusts and foundations, seek gifts in wills, and assist with other sponsorships and grant-making bodies. The Philanthropy Manager reports to the CEO and manages a Development Coordinator.
The Festival is at a turning point. A new Artistic Director, Michaela McGuire, will join the team shortly, delivering a new artistic vision in 2021. The pandemic has enabled us to reimagine a hybrid live-digital festival in the years ahead, led by experiences that partners and philanthropists will support financially. MWF’s commitment to First Nations storytelling and reconciliation will also inform our work. The Philanthropy Manager will play a critical role in securing the future of the organisation.
