Katharine Murphy

Katharine Murphy has worked in the parliamentary press gallery since 1996, and is currently political editor and Canberra bureau chief of Guardian Australia. A Walkley award winner and two-time recipient of the Paul Lyneham Award for Excellence in Press Gallery Journalism, Katharine also holds an honorary doctorate from the University of Canberra. She is the author of On Disruption – an analysis of the impact of the internet on political journalism – as well as two Quarterly Essays – The End of Certainty, Scott Morrison and Pandemic Politics, and Lone Wolf, Anthony Albanese and the New Politics.
