COVID safety

Melbourne Writers Festival is planning a COVID-safe festival across all venues in 2022, following the advice of state and federal governments. More information will be sent to schools directly about these measures closer to the event.

Accessibility and inclusion are at the core of MWF Schools. Melbourne Writers Festival has unallocated seating. Please contact us if you require reserved seating to accommodate your access needs.

Wheelchair access: There are accessible toilets, ramps and lifts throughout MCEC, including lift access from the car parks.

Vision impairment: Braille is provided on all room door and fixed directional signage throughout the venue. MCEC is guide dog friendly and welcomes registered assistance dogs into all areas of the building.

Assisted hearing: Most spaces within MCEC are equipped with TTA Hearing Assisted telephones, and the venue has other hearing assisted devices available to hire.

For more information on accessibility or to notify us of any access requirements, please email ticketing@mwf.com.au or call (03) 9094 7862.

School groups will have the opportunity to meet the authors and get books signed on the day. Students may bring their own copies to the book signings, or purchase MWF Schools titles between events from the Readings bookshop at MCEC.

Child safety

Melbourne Writers Festival is committed to the safety of children of all ages, abilities and cultural backgrounds. Children are vital and active participants in the Festival. We want children to be safe, happy and empowered. We support and respect all children, just as we support our staff and volunteers.
