Work With Us

We offer a range of employment, volunteering and internship opportunities. Help us bring MWF to life.

Melbourne Writers Festival is staffed year-round by a small team, that grows as each Festival approaches and we welcome production, marketing, ticketing, artist liaison, front-of-house and customer service staff, who bring their expertise and enthusiasm to the task of staging this ten-day celebration. We are based out of our office at the Wheeler Centre on Little Lonsdale Street.

If you are interested in working with us, please check this page regularly, connect with us on FacebookTwitter and LinkedIn, or subscribe to our eNews for updates on employment opportunities.

MWF is an equal opportunity employer and we want to be a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Development Manager

We are seeking an organised, capable and enthusiastic Development Manager to join our Festival team. The Development Manager plays a proactive and pivotal role by initiating and delivering the relationships that secure significant sponsorship, partnership and philanthropic support for the organisation.

MWF’s Development Manager works very closely with the Head of Marketing and Development, and the CEO. They are responsible for managing a portfolio of established and developing relationships; and for identifying, pitching for and securing new sponsorships that deliver financial and strategic benefits. They work across corporate, cultural and educational sponsors, philanthropic trusts and individual donors, and some grant bodies.

This is a fantastic full-time role for someone who is ready for their next step in the development landscape.

Applications will be accepted until 9am (AEDT) on Wednesday 2 January 2019. Download the position description and use the application form above to submit your application.

Internships

MWF offers a structured voluntary internship program. Internships are designed for people who want to complete a placement as part of an educational course, and people keen to develop their professional experience and skills. MWF internships provide a professional development experience, with hands-on participation in a major festival environment, in a supportive and fun team.

2019 internship applications will open in February.
