Everyone has a story to tell, and now it’s time to hear yours for Homespun. During this live ABC Radio Melbourne storytelling event, listeners step into the limelight to share true stories that each feature the line ‘I have been meaning to tell you’. Joining the hand-picked speakers on stage are hosts Virginia Trioli and David Astle, alongside special MWF guest Sofie Laguna, for what promises to be a night of laughter, love and homespun yarns.

Event artists

David Astle is the Evenings presenter on ABC Radio Melbourne. He is a writer of books and creator of notorious crosswords. His DA puzzles appear every Friday in The Age and Sydney Morning Herald, inspiring and incensing both states in equal measure, while his weekly Wordplay column runs in Sydney's Spectrum section.

Sofie’s writing for adults has earned her many awards, including the Miles Franklin. Her books for children have been published all over the world and have won many awards, including Honour Book by the CBCA. Sofie’s new novel for adults, Infinite Splendours, has recently been released to critical acclaim.

Virginia Trioli is presenter on Mornings on ABC Radio Melbourne and the former co-host of ABC News Breakfast. A two-time Walkley Award winner, she joined ABC Local Radio in 2001 from The Bulletin, and for eight years hosted the Drive Program on 774 ABC Melbourne and the Morning Program on 702 ABC Sydney.
