Join critically acclaimed author André Dao as he leads a workshop on using the techniques of autofiction in your writing. He covers the challenges and rewards of drawing from lived experience, how we might capture life in all its complex entanglements, and how writing autobiographical fiction can hone useful skills for storytelling regardless of label or genre.
Dao shares insight from his own writing, including the powerfully moving new novel Anam, a story about memory, inheritance, colonialism and belonging that blends essay, family history and fiction.
