Some of the country’s top singer-songwriters discuss their practice and perform live in MWF19’s Duets series.

Aria Award-winning recording artist N’fa Jones, founder of afro-future hip-hop outfit Cool Out Sun and original frontman of 1200 Techniques, joins Tim Levinson AKA Urthboy, Australian hip-hop MC, producer and founding member of The Herd, known for his sharp and incisive political songwriting. They discuss breaking down barriers via their shared artform.

Sosefina Fuamoli is a music journalist, editor and radio host. Sosefina’s recent credits have included Triple J, Double J, Red Bull Australia, LNWY and Cool Accidents, and she has contributed to Rolling Stone Australia and Stella Magazine. Sosefina is the Hip-Hop columnist for Beat Magazine in Melbourne, and hosts The Scenario on KissFM.

Aria Award-winning artist credited for establishing the Australian Hip Hop movement with his band 1200 Techniques. Helping with independent label House of Beige, and creating his Afrobeat group Cool Out Sun, N'fa continues to stimulate the local musical community, co-creating and delivering a Diploma of Music focused on Hip Hop, at Box Hill Institute.

Urthboy (Tim Levinson) is an award-winning Hip Hop artist from Sydney. He has released multiple albums, including six with The Herd in addition to five solo albums. Urthboy is managing director of Elefant Traks, a Hip Hop and electronic record label based in Sydney where he manages the careers of Hermitude, Horroshow, and Joyride.
