Grave New Worlds

Sun 11 Sep, 1.30pm

Grace Chan‘s and Claire G Coleman‘s new novels evoke dystopian futures in which characters must question all they consider to be real and safe. See them in conversation with Sami Shah about how speculative fiction allows them to examine present-day concerns relating to society, technology and human nature. Chan’s Every Version of You roams a hyper-consumerist virtual reality to unpick the ties between our tangible and digital lives. Coleman’s Enclave explores a future of surveillance, disruption and segregation that echoes the horrors of a colonial past.
