A selection of the Australia’s hottest kids’ book illustrators go texta-to-texta in this colourful, competitive and completely crazy drawing showdown! See Chris Kennett and Ben Wood race against each other and the clock to draw your silliest suggestions. Who will be crowned The Very Best Illustrator of All Time? Don’t miss this epic battle of the pens, hosted by Andrew McDonald. Ages 6+

Event artists

Chris Kennett is an illustrator(and occasional author)of picture books and junior fiction. After writing and illustrating his first two picture books in 2011–12, Chris has gone on to illustrate the Star Wars franchise and a variety of kid-lit junior novels, including the recent Nerd Herd and School of Monsters series.

Andrew McDonald is the author of the bestselling Real Pigeons series. His books have been shortlisted for the Readings Children’s Book Prize and the Australian Book Industry Awards. Andrew lives in Melbourne and loves writing stories that make kids laugh, wonder and leap into the air with surprise.

Ben Wood is the illustrator of the bestselling Real Pigeons series by Andrew McDonald. Real Pigeons is being adapted into a film and television series by Nickelodeon. Real Pigeons Flex Feathers was released in May 2021, with Real Pigeons Spy High being published in November 2021.
