Due to COVID-19, this event has been cancelled.
Gabrielle Chan understands the decisions you make when eating or buying food influence farming—what is grown, where it’s grown, and how it’s grown. With her characteristically forensic eye, the lauded journalist talks about how our nation—its leaders and consumers—must usher in new ways for us to engage with the land on which we rely, with insights from her new book, Why You Should Give a F*ck About Farming. With Connor Tomas O’Brien.
Gabrielle Chan has written for The Australian, Guardian Australia, Meanjin and the Griffith Review. Rusted Off: Why Country Australia is Fed Up was shortlisted for the 2019 Prime Minister’s Literary Awards and the 2020 Walkleys. Why You Should Give a F**k About Farming was released in August 2021.
Connor Tomas O'Brien runs Studio Sometimes, a design studio devoted to working with nonprofits, and was previously the Wheeler Centre's Digital Content Producer and founder of the Digital Writers' Festival. He is currently writing Change is Hard, a guidebook for ‘lapsed and lazy environmentalists’.
