On Second Thought

Sun 7 May, 3pm
State Library Village Roadshow Theatrette

Diana Reid and Ronnie Scott have both penned sophomore novels confirming their place among the most exciting voices in Australian fiction today.

Reid’s Seeing Other People is the darkly funny story of the fraught bond between two sisters, welcomed as a ‘reprieve from the novels of middle-class malaise that have been so painfully fashionable of late’ (Sydney Morning Herald). Scott’s Shirley charts a woman’s search for meaning in a world of fracturing ambitions, praised by Michelle de Kretser as ‘a very astute, very stylish and very funny novel that establishes [Scott] as a tremendously gifted social portraitist.’ They appear in conversation with Elizabeth McCarthy.
