Storytime with Maxine Beneba Clarke

Sit down with prize–winning writer Maxine Beneba Clarke as she reads from her widely acclaimed and gorgeously illustrated children’s books, including favourites Wide Big World, Fashionista and When We Say Black Lives Matter. In this inspiring event, she shares the richly lyrical prose and the uplifting themes that infuse her stories, such as expressing yourself, believing in who you are, and the importance and power of joy. Ages 4+

Maxine Beneba Clarke is the author of over 10 books, including the critically acclaimed childhood memoir The Hate Race, the ABIA award-winning fiction collection Foreign Soil, the Victorian Premier’s Literary Award-winning poetry collection Carrying the World, and her newly released picture book When We Say Black Lives Matter.
