Do Something About ItThu 5 Sep, 10am
It’s safe to say the world is facing some…challenges. Environmental journalist Linh Do, writer Laniyuk Garcon, poet Elena Gomez, and writer and critic Sonia Nair offer a rallying call to do something about it. For your sake.
Linh Do finds happiness in trying to make a difference as the Australia and Pacific lead for The Climate Reality Project, Al Gore’s leadership program. Most recently, Linh covered the Paris climate change negotiations at The Verb, a newswire service. Linh has been named Australian Geographic young conservationist of the year.
Elena Gomez is a poet and book editor living in Melbourne. Her full-length collection of poetry, Body of Work, was highly commended in the Victorian Premier's Literary Awards 2019.
Laniyuk was born of a French mother and a Larrakia, Kungarrakan and Gurindji father. She was fortunate enough to contribute to the book Colouring the Rainbow: Blak Queer and Trans Perspectives, as won the Indigenous residency for Canberra's Noted Writers Festival 2017 and Overland’s Writers Residency for 2018.
Sonia Nair is a Melbourne-based writer and critic who has been published by the Wheeler Centre, The Lifted Brow, Meanjin and Kill Your Darlings, among others.
