Isabella Fraser Room

Previously closed to the public, the Isabella Fraser Room is the Library’s newest venue and dedicated events space. The classically styled venue dazzles with natural light streaming in through expansive windows, and is graced by coffered white ceilings and parquetry floors.

The perfect backdrop for a glamorous cocktail party, chic wedding reception or distinguished corporate event, the Isabella Fraser Room is accessed through a separate entry and is located next to the Library’s new exhibition space, Victoria Gallery.


This venue has wheelchair access. Accessible entry to the Library is via Entry 5 on La Trobe Street (near the corner of La Trobe and Russell Streets), which has automatic doors. Accessible toilets are available within the gallery space.


Take Yarra Trams route 1, 3, 3a, 5, 6, 16, 30, 35 (free City Circle), 64, 67, 72 to stop 6. Melbourne Central station is the closest train station located directly opposite the Library. Country travellers can transfer to metropolitan trains at Southern Cross or North Melbourne stations. The nearest bus stops are located on Lonsdale, Russell and Exhibition streets.
