The 2022 Festival spans four days jam-packed with events featuring local, national and international speakers.

Each year, over 200 volunteers help bring Melbourne Writers Festival to life. From artist care to venue support, our volunteer roles offer a behind-the-scenes look at delivering a world-class literary and artistic event and are a fantastic opportunity to build experience and make new friends in the process. We could not deliver the Festival without the generous support of volunteers.

Benefits of Volunteering

• Volunteers have free access to standard MWF events that are not sold out as well as one complimentary ticket to be used at specific MWF events
• MWF Volunteers receive a branded T-shirt to wear while on shift and to keep as a memento
• Meet like-minded people and make new friends
• Develop transferable skills and gain new experiences.

If you’re interested in working in the industry, it’s a fantastic way to be a part of a highly regarded Festival. Volunteering is a great way to get a foot in the door; many people who currently work with MWF started as volunteers.
