MWF Schools

Welcome to one of Australia's biggest literary events for students.

MWF Schools gathers some of Australia’s most essential voices in children’s and young adult literature to delight and inspire students. Speaking to a broad range of topics, including First Nations storytelling and cultures, friendship, identity, mathematics, family, and creativity, our featured authors combine thoughtful consideration of complex ideas with an excitement for the life-changing power of books and stories.

Program

Primary school students will be treated to fun and interactive events featuring Australian Children’s Laureate Gabrielle Wang, prize-winning poet and Gunai woman Kirli Saunders, award-winning author and illustrator Katrina Nannestad, and math teacher and Wootube founder Eddie Woo. View the full primary school program here.

Secondary school students will hear from Rhiannon Wilde about her much-anticipated second book, Where You Left Us; about heroes and monsters from Vanessa Len; from Nukunu man Jared Thomas about the power of storytelling; and put questions to the wildly popular and bestselling young adult author Lynette Noni in a rare ‘Ask Me Anything’ special event.
