What makes a good short story tick?
Join the Arthur C. Clarke Award–winning author of The Animals in That Country Laura Jean McKay as she shares how to use character and dialogue to craft emotionally resonant worlds in just a few pages.
Drawing on her experiences penning the celebrated short fiction collections Gunflower – a 2023 Guardian best-book pick – and Holiday in Cambodia, McKay leads readings, exercises and discussion to help you hone your skills and edit your short stories to make them sing.
Workshops run for 150 minutes.
