Listen to original poems read by regional Victorian poets by dialling a number on one of three Wonderfoon handsets. Inspired by John Giorno’s iconic 1969 artwork Dial-a-Poem, each number unlocks a unique poem by a contemporary Australian poet.

Curated by Izzy Roberts-Orr, Phone-a-Poem invites people of all ages to engage with poetry in a tactile and interactive experience. Look for three handsets around Festival venues and take a moment to escape into the world of words.

Izzy Roberts-Orr

Izzy Roberts-Orr is a poet, writer and arts worker based on Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country in regional Victoria. Her debut poetry collection, Raw Salt (Vagabond Press, 2024) was the recipient of a Wheeler Centre Hot Desk Fellowship, Bundanon Artist Residency and Shortlisted for the Colorado Prize for Poetry. She is a recipient of the Marten Bequest Scholarship for Poetry, Varuna Pitch Me! Fellowship and the BR Whiting Residency (Rome), and works as Creative Producer for Red Room Poetry.
