Marcus McShane
Marcus is an artist, writer, and designer who has 24 awards in the areas of theatre, fine arts, and architecture. His longest-running work after 51 installation seasons is Nag, a self-powered artist space entirely constructed from found materials. Recently he’s built an art studio out of recycled theatre sets in Wellington, and in early 2026 he will have new artworks in Copenhagen, Sydney, Lisbon, and New York. Marcus is mainly interested in finding ways to keep his carbon footprint low, growing vegetables, building bicycles, and reading things worth reading. He is a Creative New Zealand fellow for 2025.
