Become a Melbourne Writers Festival Education Partner and collaborate with one of Australia's leading literary festivals.
Since 1986, MWF has entertained hundreds of thousands of readers as Australia’s boldest literary festival. Based in Melbourne, a UNESCO City of Literature, MWF bring writers and readers together to be inspired, challenged and thrilled. MWF is proud to foster a love of books and writing in young readers by connecting them with award-winning writers, thinkers and storytellers. In 2026, MWF welcomed 169 artists across 91 events and welcomed more than 25,000 attendees across the festival.
As an MWF Education Partner, Victorian schools have a unique opportunity to engage MWF writers for special events with the school community – from masterclasses and workshops, to guest assemblies and private events that spark creativity, inspire learning and nurture a love of storytelling.

Inspire your students by inviting an artist from the MWF program into your school for a guest talk, curated in close collaboration with the MWF team. On-campus events can be scheduled during the Festival or throughout the year to best fit your school calendar. Writers can speak at an assembly, deliver a small group workshop or masterclass, or take part in an out-of-hours event for the wider school community.
Host an exclusive partnered event connecting your students and school community to the local and global literary landscape. Options include intimate networking events or larger scale in-conversations with artists taking part in MWF, including visiting interstate and international authors. Private events can be scheduled during the Festival or throughout the year to fit your school calendar.

In addition to special events, enjoy complimentary festival tickets to key events, including MWF's Opening and Closing Nights, and acknowledgement as an Education Partner across official festival marketing.
