  Bebe Oliver

  Bebe Oliver is a Bardi Jawi award-winning author, poet and illustrator. As a leading advocate for Aboriginal advancement and self-determination, he is deeply committed to the empowerment and visibility of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander creators.
  
  Bebe is the Artistic Director and CEO of Blak & Bright First Nations Literary Festival, and the Deputy Chair of Magabala Books, demonstrating his drive for literary excellence and cultural representation.
  
  Bebe’s newest book, if this is the end, is regarded as a fearless and honest exploration of identity, and “a queer Blak classic”.

  Clem Bastow

  Dr Clem Bastow is a screenwriter, cultural critic and award-winning critical Autism studies researcher from Naarm–Melbourne. Clem works as a screenwriter and neurodiversity consultant for film and television, and teaches screenwriting at the University of Melbourne. Clem’s debut non-fiction book, Late Bloomer, was published in 2021. They have contributed to books including Investigating Stranger Things and ReFocus: The films of Elaine May, and their writing appears regularly in The Guardian. They’re currently working on a series of critical Autism studies essays and a collection of speculative fiction short stories.

  Ernest Price

  Ernest Price is a transgender man working as a secondary English teacher in Naarm/ Melbourne. His writing has been published by Queerstories and Overland. The Pyramid of Needs is his debut novel.

  Maeve Marsden

  Maeve Marsden is the Creative Director of Varuna the National Writers' House and the Blue Mountains Writers' Festival. A writer and theatremaker in her own right, she is perhaps best known for producing national storytelling project, Queerstories, for the last ten years.

  Norman Erikson Pasaribu

  Norman Erikson Pasaribu is a Toba Batak poet and writer. Their first poetry collection, Sergius Mencari Bacchus, won the first prize in the 2015 Jakarta Arts Council Poetry Manuscript Competition, and led them to win the 2017 Sastrawan Muda from the Southeast Asia Literary Council (Mastera). Their book of fiction, Happy Stories, Mostly (tr. Tiffany Tsao), gained international critical acclaim. It won the 2022 Republic of Consciousness Prize for Small Presses, and was listed for the 2022 International Booker Prize, the 2023 National Book Critics Circle's Barrios Book in Translation, the 2023 National Translation Award for Prose and the 2023 Cercador Prize for Literature in Translation. Norman was the inaugural recipient of the Patricia Kailis International Writing Fellowship, and was a Harvard University Asia Center's artist in residence for 2023–2024. They are a sixteenth-generation descendant of Siraja Bondar of the indigenous Toba Batak, North Sumatra.

  Rumaan Alam

  Rumaan Alam is the critically acclaimed and bestselling author of the novels Rich and Pretty, That Kind of Mother and Leave the World Behind, which was an international bestseller, a finalist for the National Book Award and the Orwell Prize, and adapted for a major motion picture in 2023 starring Julia Roberts, Ethan Hawke and Mahershala Ali. Alam’s writing has appeared in The New York Times, New York Magazine, New Yorker, New York Review of Books and New Republic, where he is a contributing editor. He studied writing at Oberlin College and lives in New York with his family.
