  Jasmin McGaughey

  Jasmin is a Torres Strait Islander and African American writer working at Books+Publishing. She is the author of Moonlight and Dust and Ash Barty’s Little Ash series (illustrated by Jade Goodwin). In 2023, she won a Queensland Premier’s Young Publishers and Writers Award. She is a black&write! editor alum, and has written for Overland, Kill Your Darlings, SBS Voices and Griffith Review and recently co-edited Words to Sing the World Alive.

  Tigest Girma is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Immortal Dark and Eternal Ruin. After graduating with a Bachelor of Education, she splits her time between writing and teaching. In her free time, she can be found rewatching her comfort shows where the villain gets the girl. Originally from Ethiopia, she is now based in Melbourne, Australia.

  Walkley award winning editorial cartoonist for The Guardian, National Treasure and bestselling author First Dog on the Moon has written and/or illustrated numerous books, the latest being Revenge of the Toxic Space Potato – unless you count the one with Annabel Crabb about the democracy prawn. First Dog lives at the First Dog On The Moon Institute in Southern Tasmania among the pademelons and silver wattles.

  Karen Comer

  Karen Comer is a verse novelist and freelance editor. Grace Notes won the 2024 CBCA Book of the Year for Older Readers, and was shortlisted for the Prime Minister’s Literary Awards and the NSW Premier’s Literary Awards. Sunshine on Vinegar Street won the Queensland Literary Awards for the Children’s Book Award and was a 2024 CBCA Notable for Younger Readers. Her third book, Once Upon Tomorrow, is out in May.
