  Beejay Silcox is a book critic. Her work appears in high-profile publications across three continents, and is renowned for its resolute (some might say, foolhardy) honesty. In addition to her writing, Beejay works as a professional reader: she's a literary interviewer, prize judge, festival programmer, editor and educator. And she has stories to tell. Beejay eloped to Las Vegas, escaped from quicksand, and drove to Timbuktu in a car held together with a bra-strap. She once had to be rescued – unironically – from a picnic at Hanging Rock.

  Kate Evans is the co-host (with Cassie McCullagh) of ABC Radio National's weekly book review program, The Bookshelf. She regularly interviews writers onstage. She has a PhD in history and too many books - and regrets neither.

  Hannah Kent

  Hannah Kent is an award-winning novelist and screenwriter based on Peramangk Country in South Australia. She is the author of the bestselling novels Burial Rites, The Good People and Devotion, and her original feature film, Run Rabbit Run, starring Sarah Snook and directed by Daina Reid, premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival. Hannah is the co-founder of Australian literary magazine Kill Your Darlings and her writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Guardian, LitHub, The Sydney Morning Herald and Vogue Australia among other publications. Her most recent book is Always Home, Always Homesick: A Memoir of Iceland.

  Jonathan Green

  Jonathan Green has been an editor, writer, commentator and broadcaster in a 40-year career as a journalist, beginning with a cadetship at The Canberra Times and including 15 years at The Age. He is the author of Around Australia in 80 Days (2004) and The Year My Politics Broke (2013). He was editor of literary quarterly Meanjin between 2015 and 2023, and he presents Every Bite on ABC Radio National.
