  Maxine Beneba Clarke

  Maxine Beneba Clarke is the author of many books for adults and children, including the short fiction collection Foreign Soil, the memoir The Hate Race, the self-illustrated picture book When We Say Black Lives Matter (longlisted for the UK’s Kate Greenaway medal), and the CBCA Honour Book The Patchwork Bike (illustrated by Van T Rudd), which won the 2019 Boston Globe Horn Prize for Best Picture Book.
  
  Her poetry collections include beautiful changelings, Carrying the World, How Decent Folk Behave, It’s the Sound of the Thing: 100 new poems for young people, and Stuff I'm (NOT) Sorry For: 99 more poems for young people.
  
  Maxine was the inaugural Peter Steele Poet in Residence at the University of Melbourne (2023-2025).

  Omar Musa

  Omar Musa is an author, visual artist and poet from Queanbeyan, Australia. He has released two novels, four books of poetry, five hip-hop records and the acclaimed one-man play. His work has appeared in The Best Australian Stories and The Best of Australian Poems. His debut novel, Here Come the Dogs, was long-listed for the International Dublin Literary Award and the Miles Franklin Award. He was named one of The Sydney Morning Herald’s Young Novelists of the Year in 2015.
  
  His most recent novel is Fierceland, and his short story collection The Vape Lord of Queanbeyan comes out in July.

  Nadine Garner

  Nadine Garner has performed for over forty years as a screen and theatre actor.  She is currently the Vice President of the Equity section at the Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance and advocates strongly for the funding and recognition of Australian story telling on our screens and stages.

  Sarah L'Estrange

  Sarah L'Estrange is a producer and broadcaster at ABC Radio National and has been steeped in books and writing for 20 years. As producer of The Book Show she has interviewed many Australian and international authors including Helen Garner, Christos Tsiolkas, Min Jin Lee and Salman Rushdie. She has also produced and presented special series for Radio National including Fakes and Frauds about Australian literary scandals and Banned Books which looks at the forces driving book bans worldwide. She also produced The Books that Changed Us short series which takes a fresh look at five influential books of the 20th century.
