Argentine novelist and short story writer Mariana Enríquez sits down to discuss her delicious, diabolical new collection of short stories, A Sunny Place for Shady People.

In her first story collection since the International Booker Prize-shortlisted The Dangers of Smoking in Bed, Enríquez weaves a series of macabre tales that use familiar horror tropes – ghosts, monsters, dead-eyed children – as a frame through which to explore themes such as love, the body, intergenerational trauma and Argentina's brutal past. Enríquez reflects on writing the grotesque and the possibilities of the horror genre, with host Beejay Silcox.
